About Us and The Role

 

Warwickshire Library Stock Services (LSS) is excited to be recruiting for a full-time, permanent Senior Library Assistant. You will be based at Hawkes Point, Heathcote Industrial Estate, Warwick, and will be an integral part of our small but very busy team supporting libraries across the county.

It is a varied role where you will supervise the Library Assistants and will be responsible for the effective and consistent delivery of all ordering and stock supply processes as well as delivery of the reading group service and the inter-library loan service. The role also has responsibility for daily, weekly and monthly payment routines including company credit card purchases, payment of invoices to suppliers and resolving queries. You will be acting as the key contact for communications between both LSS and library staff and LSS and external suppliers. 

The post requires an efficient, well-organised person with a systematic, methodical and accurate approach to work and experience of working under pressure and prioritising competing demands. We are looking for a strong communicator with relevant experience of financial systems. 

Key Skills & Experience Required

  • 2 years relevant experience in libraries.
  • 4 GCSE passes, grade C or above or equivalent, to include English and Maths.
  • Excellent numeracy and literacy skills. 
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and to meet deadlines. 
  • Ability to organise workloads effectively. 
  • Experience in the use of ICT and Windows-based computer packages including Microsoft Office. 
  • Experience of communicating clearly and effectively in person and in writing.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and with staff at all levels.
