Our Children’s Centres meet the local needs of families with children 0-19 years, 25 if there is an additional need. We provide a wide range of support such as stay & play sessions, parenting classes, families who are struggling financially, or may be finding it difficult to handle their children’s behaviour and needs. We aim to improve outcomes for all children ensuring every child is school ready and has a good level of speech, language and communication development. We support parents to achieve their own aspirations and have positive parenting skills to help every child achieve their full potential. We support families to address issues as early as possible to prevent problems from escalating.
The day-to-day duties
Under the direction of the Children Centre Coordinator provide high quality administration support and be the first point of contact for incoming calls and centre users.
To ensure the collation and inputting of all information on relevant databases for monthly & quarterly monitoring reports and returns and undertake day to day general administration duties
To provide administration services and support to the Children Centre team who deliver high quality early years and family support services within the Tipton & Rowley reach area
To work as part of a team to provide a fully integrated service for Children and Families in line with the
Children’s Centre agenda and within MHCT’s policies and procedures
To assist with the disseminations of information to centre staff, partner agencies, families, board members and the wider organisation
To work as part of a team and be aware of the sensitive nature of the work carried out by the Children Centre service, especially in respect of confidentiality and safeguarding issues. .
Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications required:
The successful candidate will have a recognised qualification i.e. NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Business & Administration or Customer Service
The successful candidate will have experience with ICT (MS Office including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access)
The successful candidate will have experience of data entry work.
The successful candidate will have experience of working in a customer/client focused environment.
The successful candidate will have experience of multi-tasking and working in a busy office environment.
The successful candidate will need to flexible in their approach
