Job Details

East Staffordshire Borough Council has worked in partnership with the Burton upon Trent Town Deal Board to create a vision for the regeneration of Burton upon Trent, which has recently secured £22.8m through the submission of a Town Investment Plan to the Towns Fund programme.

In 2020, the Council also worked in partnership with Staffordshire County Council to create a masterplan for Uttoxeter, refreshing an existing town centre masterplan from 2003. The Masterplan was approved in December 2020, with further consultation to take place in the summer of 2021 prior to any implementation of proposals.
The Town Regeneration Officer is a newly created role and part of the Council's Enterprise Team, which is a relatively small team responsible for delivering the Council's economic development and regeneration service.

This role will be responsible for working on urban regeneration projects and programmes, such as the Towns Fund for Burton and the delivery of the Uttoxeter Masterplan. It will be challenging and complex, involving contact with members of the public, Council Members and Senior Officers, Government departments, key stakeholders, and external consultants.
To be successful in this role, candidates will require a strong knowledge of working in regeneration and experience of delivering through partnership working. You should also be educated to degree level or equivalent in a field related to regeneration or planning.

We are looking for candidates who are a good team player, with a flexible and adaptable approach. You should have a strong commitment to customer service, have excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to manage competing priorities to meet deadlines.
In return, we offer a generous package of benefits including: flexible working hours, car user payments, free car parking, homeworking, and the local government pension scheme.

For an informal discussion about the role, please contact Thomas Deery, Enterprise Manager, 01283 508664.
