You will need to be:

• be outward facing and willing to harness partnership working for the benefit of both staff and student’s purpose of the role (Head of KS3 Maths)

• support the Head of Faculty in strategically leading the work of the faculty to ensure high standards from both teachers within the faculty and from students

• working with teachers within the subject to develop teaching, learning and assessment, including coaching/mentoring.

• development of the subject, alongside the Head of Faculty, both in its long term curriculum planning and cross-curricular links including ACE

• encouraging positive attitudes in students through both inspirational and engaging curricula, alongside consistent implementation of the Positive Discipline for Learning strategy

• effective implementation and evaluation of both faculty and whole school improvement priorities and policy

• ensuring the effective and efficient use of resources within the subject and ensuring value for money when managing the subject budget

Purpose of the role (Numeracy Co-ordinator)

• to support the Head of Maths in raising achievement by developing our Whole School Numeracy strategy

• to raise the profile of Mathematics across the school with both students and staff

• improve develop and embed cross-curricular links for Numeracy and impact on Numeracy throughout the school

• To lead the development of innovative practice within the delivery of Numeracy across the curriculum and acting as an example of best practice to enhance the practice of other colleagues

• with support from SLT and the Head of Faculty, to further develop our Numeracy policy and practice in order to ensure the consistency of delivery and high expectations of students and staff.

• to evaluate and review the delivery of Numeracy across the curriculum and to maintain a development plan for the implementation of this on an annual basis.
