Job Details

We are looking for a Deputy Manager for Warwickshire County Council’s first Children’s home.  Be part of something amazing!  Help us set up, shape, and lead our new children’s home along with the Registered Manager.

As the Deputy Manager of our first children’s home, you will be responsible for assisting the Registered Manager in leading the home to achieve high standards and ensure that children receive the best care possible.

You will ensure that our homes are compliant with regulations and ensure best practice.

Some of the key things we’re looking for:  We are looking for a confident leader, with a positive attitude, a willingness to get stuck in, and the determination to make our first home a success!

We are looking for somebody who wants the very best for children and young people; making sure every child and young person has the best possible care experience, that they feel love and joy and are encouraged to take the lead in their own life; working with them to build a positive culture and ethos in the home, nurturing teams and responding effectively when things don’t go to plan.

Somebody who can create a comfortable, welcoming and child-friendly home environment that you would feel proud to live in; help to run our home and deliver creative programmes and experiences that create strong bonds between the team and the young people and that make everyone smile.

Somebody who believes in equality and that no one is better than anyone else – that children have the right to be treated respectfully as equals by the adults around them. Somebody who truly understands that care is a ‘doing word’ and that the change we want to make in our home relies on working ‘with, not doing to’, people.

Do you have:

Minimum of 3 years’ experience of demonstrably effective work with children and families in a voluntary or professional setting, preferably in a residential children’s Home.   Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare (or equivalent qualification). Full UK Driving Licence. Have you got the attributes we are looking for. Does this resonate? Are you a people person and want to work with others, build strong relationships with them and help children to thrive Are you reflective and restorative in your approach and always willing to learn.

This is a full-time role and will involve being on call every other week, working some nights, evenings, and weekends on a shift pattern alongside the team.

Do you feel excited about being involved in setting up and co - running a new Children’s Home If you do, please look at the job description and apply today; let’s work together and make a difference to children’s lives.
