The Role


The Diocese of Coventry Multi Academy Trust is looking to appoint enthusiastic and effective Playleaders to join us in our Summer 2021 Playscheme Team. Individuals will be committed to supporting St. Michael’s in providing the best possible standards for our community.

Our Children and Family Centre works to support children aged 0-19 (25 with SEND) and their families across the Bedworth area. This summer we are offering a playscheme ‘Holiday Hangout’ to children aged 4-11 years in receipt of free school meals. The provision will offer children opportunities to participate in fun activities that support their emotional health and wellbeing.

These roles offer exciting opportunities for enthusiastic individuals to really make a difference to children’s lives. Successful applicants will be able to create a warm, welcoming environment and be able to relate well to children to engage them in a wide range of activities on offer within the playscheme.


The roles are 26 hours per week, working Weeks - 4 weeks from 26.7.21 to 19.8.21.


Key Requirements


You should:
•Hold a Level 2 qualification in Early Year’s, Teaching Assistant or equivalent
•Have GCSE pass in English and Maths
•Have knowledge and experience of working with children and an understand their individual needs

•Understand safeguarding requirements
•Have good communication and listening skills
•Be able to plan and take part in safe and stimulating activities where children feel valued and supported
•Have good organisational skills with the ability to take direction but also work collaboratively as part of a team.
•Be able to solve straight forward problems and respond to unforeseen circumstances e.g. hazards, accidents etc.
