Higher Level Teaching Assistant

Permanent

Main scale G7 pt22 – pt27 £28,672 - £32,910 (actual £20,618.20 - £23,897.70) pro rata

32.5 hours per week term time only

To start 1st September 2021

We are a Federation of the Blue Coat Infant and Junior schools.  The two schools share a commitment to high standards and a strong Christian ethos.  We enjoy excellent support from our parents and the schools successfully serve their multi-faith community.  Both schools are three form entry and there are over 650 children attending the two schools.

The Governors are looking to appoint a highly effective and enthusiastic HLTA to start as soon as possible. The successful applicant will work in the Infant school initially, however, they could be based in either school whilst employed by the Federation and therefore the flexibility to work in any primary key stage is desirable.

The successful applicant will be providing classroom support across the school as needed.  This will include teaching classes, covering short term absences and allowing teachers time to plan, mark and deliver interventions.

The successful applicant will hold an appropriate NVQ Level 4 demonstrating HLTA status as well as a minimum Level 2 in English and maths. Relevant qualifications are those recognised nationally as being equivalent to level 2 and level 4 of the national qualifications framework (NQF).

The Federation provides a comprehensive professional development programme tailored to the needs of individual staff at all stages of their careers.  There is a package of employee benefits available for all Blue Coat Federation employees.

Appointment is subject to DBS enhanced clearance plus 2 suitable professional references. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
