Contract: 2 Year Fixed Term

Hours: 37

Salary: £23,541 - £27,041

The West Midlands Pension Fund is one of the largest UK pension funds, ranking fourth in size across the Local Government Pension Scheme.

The Fund manages and administers the pension benefits of over 330,000 members across more than 700 employers with assets under management in excess of £18billion.

As a funded pension scheme, the Fund takes the contributions of its employers and members investing them in assets to secure future returns which support the Fund’s ability to pay pension benefits.

Assets invested in by the Fund range from listed assets, direct property and infrastructure together with private equity and debt. While not FCA regulated, the Fund works to the same standards in its investment governance and this role will support the development of monitoring tools to ensure ongoing assurance. Our approach to investing is outlined in our Investment Strategy Statement.

The Fund is regulated by the Pensions Regulator with oversight from the Scheme Advisory board, both of whom provide statutory guidance and legislation with which the Fund complies in its management and governance of the Administration and Management of the Fund.

To support its compliance in management of assets and the administration of the Fund, we are seeking an Investment Compliance and Regulatory Assurance Graduate to work within the Fund’s Governance and Compliance Team supporting statutory reporting and development of our internal control’s framework. The role will work closely with our Investment Compliance and Regulatory Governance Managers developing effective reporting frameworks and supporting on routine compliance deliverables.

This role would particularly suit candidates with an interest in investment management, legal, compliance or audit with an opportunity to undertake additional training and qualification in support of the responsibilities of the role.
