Street Scene is looking for a skilled and experienced arborist to join its team responsible for the maintenance and management of tree stock in the ownership of the borough.
We wish to appoint a Tree Officer with at least 3 years experience of professional arboriculture; applicants should have a good working knowledge of tree related legislation and management, Planning legislation, the Hedgerow Regulations and High Hedges legislation.
A sound knowledge of health and safety relating to tree work is vital together with the ability to make recommendations for short and long-term tree management, as well as preparing and over-seeing tree works contracts.
You should be able to identify and take appropriate action to deal with defective or failing trees, carry out inspections and provide written reports.
In this role you will need to motivate, lead, and provide direct operational management for a small tree team, as well as having excellent communications skills both written and verbal, and experience in dealing with members of the public.
Applicants should hold appropriate professional qualifications to a minimum of level 4 and be able to drive.
