An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Planning and Development Department at Birmingham City Council. The second city is booming and we are looking for someone who is passionate about enabling development that achieves a positive sense of place to shape our city for future generations.

You will be working for one of the country’s largest planning authorities within a can-do Directorate that combines a range of service areas. 

The role would primarily be focused on housing delivery specifically working on schemes proposed by Birmingham Municipal Housing Trust (the Council's own housing builder).  We are looking to appoint a motivated and experienced Principal Planning Officer with a proven track record of enabling good place making. The role will involve managing your own case load as well as providing guidance and mentoring to other Planning Officers to enable the continual delivery of high performance as well as ensuring good quality development is achieved.

You will need to hold a degree in planning or a related discipline, be a Corporate Member of the RTPI and have substantial experience.
