The Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and skilled Finance and Business Support Officer to join the newly established and vibrant Property Services Team and help us to deliver a range of ‘best in class’ property management solutions across the entire Worcestershire County Council (WCC) property portfolio through our Facilities Management, Project Management and Estates Management functions. This is a permanent role and WCC are currently operating a work from home policy, in line with government guidelines but you will need to be to attend the office in line with business needs.

Reporting to the Head of Facilities Management, the Finance and Business Support Officer will provide financial advice and support to a range of Heads of Service, Accountancy Officers and Finance Managers whilst providing a full and quality financial management service to Budget Holders, Service Managers and other Council officers. Being highly numerate and with an awareness of financial governance you will be able to profile and monitor budgets, and identify and flag anomalies. Possess the ability to confidently support the production of reports, business cases and other financial documents. Working alongside our Operations and Administration Officer you will also help to orchestrate and deliver a range of accurately delivered purchasing and invoicing workflow.

As an individual you will be self-assured, a good communicator, possess an ability to foster effective working relationships with co-workers, be able to problem solve and work under your own initiative with an appropriate degree of autonomy when required, and possess relevant experience and qualification as laid out in the job description.
