To work in our All Age Disability Team you must be enthusiastic and passionate about changing the lives of adults who have physical and learning disabilities through the promotion of wellbeing and choice, making a real difference and enabling them to increase their independence and have fulfilling lives, free from harm and abuse.

You would be joining Solihull at an exciting time as the Council changes the way in which it delivers its services, and we work in a more agile way; and as a Social Worker in Solihull you will benefit from manageable caseloads, an inclusive and supportive team culture and great scope for professional development.

To be successful in the role you will have: -

  • Experience of delivering person-centred working.
  • Experience of assessment, the development and planning of care and of risk management.
  • Effective communication skills and experience of collaborative working to build effective working relationships.
  • Sound knowledge of safeguarding principles and relevant legislation.

In return, you will be part of a team where you will be really valued and you will have the opportunity to shape and improve the services we deliver. We have close partnerships across agencies in the borough. We are a small and friendly local authority with good relationships across adult care and support.

We also understand that our employees have commitments and interests outside work and encourage good work-life balance by offering a flexible and agile working environment; this is further supplemented by an extensive wellbeing offer, as well as a range of other benefits including staff discounts and a career average pension scheme.
