Sir Alexander Fleming Primary School and Nursery is a two-form entry school for children aged 3-11 years old. We currently have 404 children on roll from Nursery to Year 6. We are a friendly and supportive community school based at the heart of Sutton Hill. Our children are encouraged to become confident, resilient and articulate and to use their abilities to the full. We aim to provide a calm, happy, caring and nurturing atmosphere and set high standards of respect, courtesy, hard work and achievement for all children and adults.


Our Governors are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, inspirational and dedicated experienced teacher who shares our commitment, and values in learning in our forward-thinking school.


The successful candidate will be an exemplary classroom practitioner with broad teaching experience, who has high expectations of pupil achievement and behaviour. They will be keen to develop their professional expertise and additional responsibilities may be available for the right candidate.
