You have an understanding of substance misuse and associated health and social issues and experience of working with young people in an addictions or social care setting.  All you need is the perfect environment to put your skills to great use. Welcome to Aquarius as a Practitioner.

Aquarius is part of Recovery Focus, a national group of charities highly experienced in providing specialist support services to individuals and families living with the effects of mental ill health, drug and alcohol use, gambling and domestic violence. We know that recovery can look and feel very different to each and every one of us. But we also know that if we provide the right support, at the right time, we can inspire recovery nationwide and that recovery is possible for everyone.

An exciting opportunity for a Community Outreach and Engagement Practitioner to join our team in Wolverhampton. Your challenge?  To provide outreach activities and training for professionals and communities and to work with vulnerable clients and those that struggle to engage with services. You will also provide advice, assessment, brief and structured interventions, group programmes and training courses.  You will work in Aquarius offices as well as in primary care, arrest referral, hospital and youth settings and other outreach settings as required by the service specification.

An energetic and confident self-starter, you have a qualification in health/social care, youth and community care (e.g. NVQ Level 3 or above, DipSW, Mental Health Nursing, Counselling, Addiction Studies).  Alternatively, we’ll consider candidates with experience of working in the substance misuse field with a commitment to complete NVQ Level 3 Health and Social Care. You will have experience in disseminating and communicating appropriate substance misuse information to professionals and sharing best practice. You should also have experience of partnership working as well as the ability to maintain constructive relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders from a wide range of services and disciplines. What’s more, you have a flexible approach, a commitment to the principles of confidentiality and the ability to write client records and report and fulfil data requirements.

This is a full-time role requiring the post-holder to work 37 hours per week.

This is a fixed term role covering maternity leave until 30th June 2022.

The salary for this role is £20,015.00 per annum with potential progression to £23,420.00 per annum (under review).

We are committed to increasing our diversity and we would welcome applications from those with lived experience and/or who are from a BAME background.

Closing Date for applications is 14th May 2021. (We reserve the right to close vacancies before the specified closing date, should a large number of applications be received).
