Birmingham Art School

Location: Remote

Job Start Date: September/October 2021

The chance to establish and lead a new project is special, but when that project involves working right

across a city, combining two discrete sectors with deep moral purpose, and has the chance to be nationally and internationally ground-breaking, the opportunity is remarkable. Our aim is for a world class arts and cultural education for every child in the city. The Birmingham Arts School is a new

initiative that carries the ambition of powerfully driving school improvement and building cultural capital in schools and communities with the highest levels of need and challenging the inequality of opportunity faced by too many children. It also endeavours to unlock the collective potential of the city’s outstanding arts and cultural organisations, engaging them as partners and working through brokerage, CPD and joint planning. This role is being promoted by Birmingham Creates https://www.birminghamcreates.co.uk, our Local Cultural Education Partnership (LCEP) while one of its members, the Birmingham Education Partnership (BEP), is the employer and accountable body. BEP is an educational charity championing school improvement across all Birmingham’s state

funded education settings www.bep.education  with a history of supporting and promoting the Arts in schools.
