Science Teacher
MPS £25714 - £41604 + SEN Allowance (£2270 - £4479) Depending on experience and qualifications
23.5 hours working: Monday 8.45 – 4.30, Tuesday and Wednesday 8.45 – 3.30, Thursday 8.45 – 12.30
Abbey Hill School & College is a successful and over-subscribed special school meeting the needs of children and young people with learning difficulties, communication & interaction difficulties and/or Autistic Spectrum Conditions.
Following the retirement of the current post-holder our governors are seeking to employ a talented and inspirational Teacher of Science for Key Stages 3 and 4 commencing 1st September 2021
Knowledge and Experience:
- A proven track record of teaching Science at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
- Effective approach to behaviour management
- Applied knowledge and understanding of SEND
- Ability to teach pupils with ASD, utilising autism-specific approaches to ensure successful outcomes would be desirable
The successful candidate will
- Have high professional standards and expectations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Have the ability to work under pressure
- Have the emotional resilience in working with pupils with challenging behaviours.
- Deliver exciting and engaging science lessons
The successful candidate will have a comprehensive induction, continuing CPD and an opportunity to work alongside our committed and supportive staff.
