SEN Support Workers x 2
Salary - £18562 - £18933 per annum pro-rata
Post 1: Monday – Friday 8.45 – 1.30. 23.75 hours per week
Post 2: Monday 11.30 – 4.30, Tuesday – Friday 11.30 – 3.30. 21 hours per week
Abbey Hill School & College is a popular, successful and over-subscribed school meeting the needs of children and young people with learning difficulties, communication & interaction difficulties and/or Autistic Spectrum Conditions.
Abbey Hill School is rapidly expanding and our governors are seeking to employ two suitably experienced and qualified individuals for the role of Special Educational Needs Welfare Assistants in our Early Years/Foundation Stage.
Job Purpose:To work with teachers as part of a professional team to support teaching and learning for SEN pupils. Providing learning support to pupils who need particular help to overcome barriers to learning, such as those with moderate, severe, profound and multiple learning difficulties and/or behavioural, social, communication, sensory or physical disabilities. You must have excellent communication, numeracy, literacy and IT skills.
Minimum essential requirements:
- Working at NVQ level 2 in supporting teaching and learning or equivalent; may be working towards NVQ level 3 and/or national occupational standards.
- Knowledge and compliance with policies and procedures relevant to child protection and health and safety.
- An ability to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence through the medium of English
