Do you want to be part of a school, where we showcase our students’ musical talents and recognise their creativity and imagination?

If so, find out more about our School and Trust and how you can make a real difference to young people and be part of a thriving faculty.  Music forms a key part of our Performing Arts Faculty and so we are searching for an enthusiastic leader who has a real passion for music, excited by extra-curricular activities, who sees music as a way of bringing students together.

Our students are taught in purpose built music rooms with cutting-edge music technology and are given ample opportunities to get involved in an amazing array of performing arts activities. These include our Christmas concerts, end of year shows, house events and competitions, our creativity, culture and charity week, the school choir, our year 13 charity single and, of course, through weekly music lessons and bespoke lessons with peripatetic music teachers. We are trying our best to be as creative as possible during these challenging times so that much of this continues even if it is through different media.

This role would suit a current subject leader or an aspiring subject leader looking for the next step in their career.   Music is a popular subject and the faculty has the freedom to innovate and inspire our students through faculty centred leadership.

The successful applicant will:

•          Be an excellent practitioner with a passion for learning and teaching and a desire to ensure that the quality of learning in Music is great.

•          Be a leader with a desire to achieve the very best outcomes and deliver excellent, inclusive provision for all our students.

•          Have a record of consistently delivering strong GCSE results across a range of abilities.

•          Have an ability to support, motivate and develop teachers to improve their practice.

•          Have an ability to engage, enthuse and motivate students and staff.

•          Be a committed, competent, reflective and resilient individual determined to make a profound difference to the lives of our students.

We pride ourselves on being the kind of place people want to work where everyone recognises the buzz of excitement and togetherness, whatever stage they are at in their career.  We invest in ensuring the quality of our relationships, fostering and building strong teams to share good and innovative practice, to promote learners’ achievements and to be the best that we can be.

We will play to your strengths and can offer you:

  • The opportunity to flourish alongside supportive and caring staff with a strong team ethos, so that you have the tools to teach in a way that works for you
  • A comprehensive induction programme for all new staff which continues with access to enriched professional development through a range of internal programmes and through our Teaching School Alliance
  • Developmental opportunities for the next step in your career
  • Access to expert coaching
  • A strong and effective admin team to enable you to concentrate on your teaching
  • Opportunities to teach across all key stages
  • Technology rich premises, with exceptional facilities and a range of benefits which include cycle to work, access to the on-site gym and swimming pool, free parking, an employee discount scheme, provision of an ipad and a commitment to staff wellbeing and recognition initiatives through our people strategy and well-being committee.

Caludon Castle has great deal to be proud of, with a relentless focus on excellence and a desire to continuously improve.  If you have the passion and determination to be valued part of our team, we would love to hear from you.
