West Midland Combined Authority’s Finance Team is responsible for managing all the finances of the organisation. We are responsible for all the money coming in and going out. We provide financial information to help ensure the firm is controlling their credit well, help departments manage good decisions, ensure cash is available to meet objectives, prepare financial statements, monitor the funds of the business and ensure bills are paid. We are Payroll, Accounts payable, receivable, business partners and everyday finance business planning.

As AP/AR Officer, your role will be to assist in the efficient and timely processing of sales and purchase invoices, payments to suppliers and maintaining records relating to the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions in accordance with agreed procedures and performance standards. WMCA operates a ‘No PO no payment’ policy and so you’ll be used to working to set standards and procedures.

Who we need

We’re looking for someone with demonstrable experience of working in a finance environment, with previous experience of processing sales and purchase invoices, and making payments to suppliers. You’ll need a good working knowledge of MS Office (Word and Excel, to Intermediate level and with the ability to perform VLOOKUP) and be comfortable liaising with multiple internal and external stakeholders and customers. We use Business World and experience of this system would be highly desirable but not essential.
