Food Technician Apprenticeship

This is a unique opportunity for an enthusiastic, motivated apprentice to join our friendly and hardworking student support team and provide direct support to the Technology faculty. 

You will be enthusiastic and motivated about Technology and determined to help students develop their own enthusiasm. The faculty enjoys excellent dedicated teaching bases comprising well-equipped food technology and product design classrooms.

This is a unique opportunity to combine providing effective and efficient support for the learning and teaching of food technology whilst gaining an insight into the role of a Food Technician. As you develop your skills you will also have the opportunity to mentor a small group of students.  

This opportunity provides scope to develop knowledge, skills and experience that could be a stepping stone to employment as a permanent Technician.  At the end of your apprenticeship, you will have achieved a nationally recognised Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, and gained valuable work experience that could provide a range of openings for your chosen career.  

Through the leader in our student support faculty and the Technology Faculty Leader, we provide comprehensive induction training so that you can shadow our other staff, get a really good understanding of our systems and policies and have the opportunity to ask questions and get to know our students during your induction programme.

Salary pro rota, is £6,916 pa (minimum) up to £10,249 per annum to hours worked each week and the number of weeks worked each year 37 hours per week (5 days per week), Term time only plus 5 teacher training days. 

Hours of work 8.00 am to 4.00 pm Monday to Thursday, 8.00 am to 3.30 pm Friday (half an hour lunchbreak each day).
