The Governors of Hugo Meynell CofE (VC) Primary School are seeking to appoint an experienced, hardworking, caring and enthusiastic Senior Play Worker to join us in Little Owls.
Little Owls is a thriving Wrap-around care facility for up to 38 children based within Hugo Meynell Primary School. The nurturing environment in our Breakfast and After School club plays a vital role in our pupils’ happiness and wellbeing and we are looking for someone who is committed to the needs of our children, who is friendly yet professional with a respectful approach.
The Senior Play Worker will support our Senior Play Leader in the day to day running of the Wrap-around Club, including:
- Helping to prepare nutritional snacks for children who attend breakfast and after school club.
- Helping to plan suitable activities for children and encouraging children to participate.
- Ensuring the welfare and safety of children attending the club.

The Senior Play Worker will ideally have previous experience of providing wrap around care or working within a school setting. A Level 2 NVQ qualification in play work (or similar) is preferred.
The successful candidate will work 7.30am – 8.45am and 3.00pm – 6.00pm Monday to Friday during term time only. Ideally we would like to appoint one person for both the breakfast and after-school sessions, but will consider applications on a job share basis.
