Herefordshire Council is seeking to appoint 2 Legal Assistants to join our Legal Services team.

One post is fixed term for 12 months to support the Children and Families team. This role will involve providing legal support to the qualified solicitors in the team who give legal advice in a safeguarding context to the Children and Families Directorate.

The second post is fixed term for 6 months to support both the Economy and Place, plus Corporate Services legal teams which includes planning and highways, commercial property, commercial and major projects and litigation.

To apply you must have 3 A Levels at Grade C and 4 GCSES including English and Maths or equivalent; or be a Law Graduate or Graduate with LPC/BVC with NO previous legal experience; or be CILEX qualified to Level 3 and at least 2 years previous legal experience.

The post holder will support the team with a caseload of varied legal work and be responsible for completing all matters in accordance with good legal practice and client service specification. You will be expected to undertake a number of roles that can include research, reading/drafting of a range of legal documents and correspondence, responsibility for managing and updating Court bundles, and providing administrative support to the team of Lawyers as is necessary. Appropriate training will be provided as necessary.
