HC13 - £56,514.00 - £61,248.00
Hours: 37.00
Office base Hereford (though agile working at least 3 days a week can work from home)

Fastershire is the broadband rollout in Herefordshire and Gloucestershire with thousands of premises being full fibre and superfast connected creating significant opportunity for people, families and businesses in the counties. The project has been successful in taking an innovative approach in contracting a variety of network suppliers, running a scheme to connect businesses across the Marches and Gloucestershire LEPs, and earlier this year creating a bespoke community led programme to reach remaining areas.

The next three years will in many respects be the most exciting and rewarding part of the project in making the most of the coverage already achieved to create economic advantage for the counties and supporting our communities to thrive - particularly in our market towns and rural areas.

We are now looking for someone to lead a small team on the final part of the broadband journey. This includes overseeing the delivery of contracts and driving forward the community scheme along with making sure residents and businesses make the most of the full fibre and superfast network including the digital inclusion programme. You will also work in partnership with suppliers making their own investment in a fibre network attracted by the strives made in the two counties.

You will need to be multi skilled in project, budget and contract management, with experience of managing capital schemes preferably in broadband / IT. You will be employed by Herefordshire Council as the lead authority, with close working with senior council members and officers in both councils. You will manage a small team working on engagement, campaigns, technical assurance, administration and digital inclusion along with linking with other services in the council particularly legal and finance. You will also work with BDUK including working with them on claims and assurance.

If you would like to talk through please contact Natalia Silver, Assistant Director for Corporate Support on 01432 260732 or Matt Smith, Operational Manager on 01432 260634.
