This position is a fixed term contract until 31/08/2022
We are seeking to appoint a Key Stage 2 Teacher (experience of teaching EAL learners would be beneficial) to join the award-winning Sandwell’s Transition, Education and Partnership Service (STEPS) for New Arrivals to Sandwell.
STEPS is a unique provision, Sandwell has approximately 800 international children joining us every year; you will be responsible for to plan and deliver a high-quality learning package for a class of approximately 25.
You must have:
- Qualified Teacher Status.
- Experience of teaching mixed ability classes with mixed year groups and needs.
- The ability to deliver a roll on roll off curriculum to a continuously changing class.
- A passion for teaching literacy to accelerate language accusation and literacy skills.
- A sound understanding of teaching Phonics.
Candidates must be dedicated professionals who will engage, enthuse and challenge students to achieve their very best.
A Degree level qualification: PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification with QTS OR Young Learners (YL) Extension to CELTA awarded by Cambridge ESOL or the Teaching Young Learners Extension Certificate (TYLEC) awarded by Trinity College London is a requirement of this role.
