We are looking to appoint a Senior Finance Support Officer; this is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and highly organised person to join a very dynamic and busy environment as a Senior Finance Support Officer. The successful candidate will support the Head of Finance in the management and efficient operation of the Trust’s accounting functions to agreed procedures. You will also support the Head of Finance with the preparation of the annual accounts for audit, maintain a comprehensive Asset Register for the academies and ensure the achievement of best value, undertaking regular financial analysis and benchmarking. Ideally you will have worked in a finance environment/office typically for 1-3 years, an AAT qualified (Level 4) or equivalent accounting/financial qualification is essential.

You must be able to demonstrate:
• Ability to analyse and interpret complex financial information, assess the implications and identify corrective action.
• Ability to work constructively as part of a team
• Good organising, planning and prioritising skills
• Methodical with a good attention to detail
• Knowledge of financial management processes and systems in a complex people-orientated organisation.
• Knowledge of relevant policies/codes of practice and awareness of relevant legislation

You should have good IT and communication skills in order to deal with the variety of financial duties assigned to you. A good working knowledge of PS Financials or similar package is advantageous, and you must be proficient in Microsoft Office, e.g. word and excel. As you will be based in a team within a school you must have a personable and professional approach to all children.
