Do you want to be part of a school, where we showcase our students’ sporting talents within our superb PE facilities?

If so, find out more about our school and Trust and how you can make a real difference to young people and be part of a thriving faculty.  We are seeking a temporary teacher of PE to work in our sport and leisure faculty.   PE is a really popular subject and we are searching for an enthusiastic teacher who has a real passion for PE, excited by extra-curricular activities, who sees sport as a way of bringing students together.

Our students are taught in purpose built sports facilities; our 6 lane swimming pool, floodlit all weather pitch, dance studio, 4 court sports hall and well equipped gym means our provision is second to none.  Whilst we need to ensure we are safe during current challenging times, we are also being as creative as possible to enable many extra-curricular activities, clubs and varied sporting events to take place so that our students have maximum opportunity to be fit and healthy, achieve their ultimate best and enjoy sport!  Equally we are introducing a House system to the school from September 2021. The House system's aim is to foster a sense of belonging, encourage participation and celebration and develop student leadership. It is intended that the Sport and Leisure faculty will play a large role in the House system running a wide range of large scale, in house, sporting competitions.

You will be able to demonstrate commitment and understanding in order that every student gets the personal support and challenge they need to progress and reach their full potential.  We are dedicated to delivering a learning experience to all students which is stimulating and enjoyable, priding ourselves on being the kind of place people want to work where everyone recognises the buzz of excitement and togetherness, whatever stage they are at in their career.  We invest in ensuring the quality of our relationships, fostering and building strong teams to share good and innovative practice, to promote learners’ achievements.

We will play to your strengths and can offer you:

  • The opportunity to flourish alongside supportive and caring staff with a strong team ethos, so that you have the tools to teach in a way that works for you
  • A comprehensive induction programme for all new staff which continues with access to enriched professional development through a range of internal programmes and through our Teaching School Alliance
  • Developmental opportunities for the next step in your career
  • A strong and effective admin team to enable you to concentrate on your teaching
  • Opportunities to teach across all key stages
  • Technology rich premises, with exceptional facilities and a range of benefits which include cycle to work, access to the on-site gym and swimming pool, free parking, an employee discount scheme, provision of an ipad and a commitment to staff wellbeing and recognition initiatives through our people strategy and well-being committee.

Caludon Castle has great deal to be proud of, with a relentless focus on excellence and a desire to continuously improve.  If you have the passion and determination to be valued part of our team, we would love to hear from you.

Please note whilst this role is temporary, as a Trust that values sport in both primary and secondary, with PE a popular option at 3 secondary schools, there may be an opportunity beyond 31 August 2022 which is when this temporary opportunity will run to.
