Teaching Assistant (one to one)

Arc School Napton, Warwickshire

Contract type: 12 month fixed term

Teaching Assistants at Arc School Napton will uphold the Mission, Values and Goals of the Kedleston Group as expressed in its Vision and Mission Statement.  They will ensure that the Group’s ethos is clearly articulated and will give professional support and guidance to colleagues in Arc School Napton to ensure these Goals are delivered. This position is to work on a one to one basis.  

Main Roles and Responsibilities

  • To promote the general academic progress and well-being of individual pupils and of any individual or class assigned to him / her to help pupils become independent learners
  • To plan and work with teachers to enhance the pupil’s learning
  • To provide levels of learning support and care appropriate to the needs of the pupils as outlined in their Education, Health & Care Plans
  • To support pupils by offering interventions based on needs/targets which are agreed with teachers 
  • To contribute to the setting & review of individual targets half termly and meet deadlines set for these
  • To provide, when necessary, in class support for individual pupils including the use of behaviour management as outlined the pupils’ behaviour management plans
  • To develop bespoke weekly/daily interventions for allocated pupils in conjunction with the relevant teacher
  • To attend school events and engage with pupils and parents/ carers at during and out of regular school hours
  • To attend home visits when required    
  • To develop knowledge, skills and understanding of the specific roles to which you are assigned
  • To prepare and deliver resources, as required
  • Assisting in the production of a stimulating learning environment in the classrooms and other areas of the school
