Community transport is about providing flexible and accessible community-led solutions in response to unmet local transport needs, and often represents the only means of transport for many vulnerable and isolated people, often older people or people with disabilities.
An opportunity has arisen for a driver to join the Dial A Ride team to provide transport within the Redditch area. The working pattern for this post is Monday to Friday.
Dial A Ride drivers are responsible for:
- Transporting older people and people with disabilities in a safe and comfortable manner using our specially adapted vehicles.
- Assisting customers getting on and off the vehicles, securing wheelchairs, walking aids and assisting customers with their shopping or luggage.
We would very much like to hear from you if you have experience of providing a professional service to older people and people with disabilities. The successful candidate will hold a clean, valid UK driving licence and must have D1 entitlements. They will be required to successfully complete the Worcestershire County Council minibus driver assessment test and undergo a Criminal Records Bureau Enhanced Disclosure.
