Job Details

The Wordsley School is a truly remarkable place. What makes our school so very special is its culture and ethos. Pupils enjoy coming to school and are successful in their learning, because of the exceptionally high level of care and support that it provides to them on an individual basis and unashamedly, the very high standards that we expect and demand of our pupils in terms of their uniform, behaviour and their commitment to learning.

We are very optimistic about our future and the successful applicant for this post will join the school during a very exciting phase of our development. Our school is oversubscribed and as such, in support of the local area, we recently expanded from a five-form to a seven-form entry school. This transition began in September 2019 with our first cohort of year 7 students and will continue for the next five years until all year groups have a roll of 211 in September 2025. The construction of our £6M state of the art English and Sports block is well underway and will be completed in Spring 2021. Consisting of 13 classrooms, the Hub will cater for all English provision in our school, along with a purpose-built library and Sports Hall.

Hours: 32.5 per week

Salary: Teacher Main Pay Range

As Head of Business Studies you will work closely with one other teacher of Business Studies, who happens to be one of our Deputy Headteachers. You will lead a department that has a fabulous reputation in the school for excellent academic results and a vibrant curriculum offering. Pupil uptake in Year 10 and Year 11 is high; Business is amongst the top most popular options subject. Owing to its previous status as a Business and Enterprise College, pupils also experience Business Studies in Year 9, with one lesson per week.

Closing Date: 24th May 2021.
