In order to deliver this ambitious strategic transformation programme over the next 3 years we are seeking to recruit a number of ambitious and dynamic procurement professionals to join the existing Procurement team.

2 Posts (x1 Permanent and x1 Two Year Fixed Term)
Salary G10: £37,890 - £42,821 per annum

This is a key management role within the Procurement Service, which has core responsibility to develop and deliver cohesive procurement strategies and operationally manage a matrix of procurement programmes and staff, ensuring successful delivery of procurement activities, across the Council.

Through the provision of effective and efficient specialist procurement advice and project management you will lead on the successful delivery of compliant, complex, procurement projects.

You will provide specialist procurement advice, customer focused innovative procurement solutions, effective and efficient project management to reduce waste, maximise efficiency, achieve best value in procurement and enable delivery of efficiency savings across the whole Council.

Key Requirements:

• Experience of working in a senior lead procurement management role in a local authority or large complex organisation
• Experience of successfully managing and delivering complex strategic procurement projects, in accordance with European Union (EU) procurement legislation, procurement policies and procedures, as part of a cross functional team, on time, in a complex and challenging environment.

• Experience of developing and implementing category related procurement strategies and deploying procurement best practice to reduce waste, improve effectiveness and generate efficiency
• Experience of change management, matrix management, managing people and resources
• A degree or equivalent and CIPS Level 4 Diploma (Industry Specific Qualification)
