Head of School - Tibberton Church Of England Primary School

Required from September 2021
Salary NOR:  147 (L4 £45,434 - L8 £50,151)

At Tibberton school we work together to achieve success, because with God anything is possible. If you are a talented middle or senior leader looking to advance your career then we would love to hear from you!

Here at Tibberton Primary School we have created a happy, ambitious community school that is committed to excellence. Over the years, we have continually focused on making sure our children are nurtured, cared for and inspired to achieve their very best – by investing in our federation, our educational setting and our staff.

Our values of compassion, friendship, honesty, forgiveness, courage and thankfulness are firmly embedded, and we are told by visitors and parents that our school has a real warmth and energy about it. To be a teaching colleague at Tibberton you have to be inclusive, inspiring and have the highest expectations for our children.

Along with our sister school St Lawrence CE Primary in Preston on the Weald Moor, we have a forward-thinking Federation that has benefited our combined staff team, both in terms of shared working and professional opportunities. Although the federation is still fairly new, we have forged strong bonds and are looking for a new Head of School who will support our vision of collaboration and support.

Here at Tibberton we are proud to serve our community and are always looking for ways to make our parent and community relationships stronger. Our children are well placed to achieve good outcomes and we want our new colleague to add their own ideas and strategies to our school – where you will find a culture of team work and self-reflection, which is testament to our highly organised and stable staff body.

Our Opportunity

As a result of our current Head of School taking on a new role elsewhere, we are looking to appoint an aspiring or existing senior leader to join us as our new Head of School. Working closely with our Executive Headteacher (who oversees Tibberton and St Lawrence’s) you will join our Senior Leadership team at an exciting time. We actively welcome interest from colleagues at all stages within school leadership.

You will already be an excellent classroom practitioner within your phase and have some proven leadership experience. With tailored support from our Executive Headteacher and development opportunities through the Severn Teaching School Alliance we will give you the skills, encouragement and experience within the profession to excel as our Head of School – and beyond.

Our Head of School post carries a teaching commitment of 0.6. As our sole Head of School, you will work closely with the Executive Headteacher, and your fellow Head of School at St Lawrence, on all elements of strategic leadership as we move both schools forwards in our aim to be an established beacon of excellence within our areas.

We are looking for:

  • A proven track record of raising both pupil attainment and standards of teaching and learning.
  • A leader with an understanding of Christian values who can nurture faith and spirituality.
  • A strong vision and ethos that supports our own values and culture.
  • An excellent practitioner with the ability to inspire children to learn and achieve.
  • Current experience of leadership in a primary setting.
  • A teacher with a flair and passion for primary education who will embrace working and teaching in our school.

We can offer you:

  • A warm, happy school where we value our community ethos and have a philosophy of treating each other with kindness and respect.
  • Happy, enthusiastic and well behaved children who thrive in a safe caring and inspiring environment.
  • A total commitment to giving you all the tools and support to make you an outstanding school leader.
  • A school and federation who have the highest expectations for all children and families and develops it’s staff body to access professional qualifications (NPQML, NPQSL, SENDco etc).
  • An opportunity for you to continue on your journey as a teaching professional – with the support, training and resources our school and our Federation have to offer.

We actively encourage you to visit and meet us. Please contact Miss Mather in the school office who will organise and confirm this for you.

The date of commencement for this post will be September 2021. Shortlisting will take place on Tuesday 25th May. Interviews are scheduled to be held on Friday 28th May. The interview process is likely to consist of: leading an act of worship, pupil voice, a lesson observation and a formal interview.

Closing date: Tuesday 25th May at 12 noon

All candidates are advised to refer to the job description and person specification before making an application.

To arrange a visit and for an application pack please contact Miss Laura Mather at  a3109@telford.gov.uk or on 01952 387790
