Network Services provide and support a wide range of voice and data networking solutions/services. We are now looking for a highly motivated individual to join our multi skilled team as a Senior Network Technician.

You will form part of a busy team that supports the day to day running of the Birmingham City Council (BCC) voice and data network and requires a suitably qualified engineering resource to maintain and develop the network in line with the business requirements. This is an exciting opportunity to work on leading edge network technologies within a highly skilled team in a challenging environment.

The role-holder will be exposed to a wide range of Networking technologies including switches, routers, Firewalls, WiFi, Proxies and Data centre networking.

You will form part of a busy team that supports the day to day running of the Birmingham City Council (BCC) voice and data network. The role will be working as part of a team providing support for all data networking services. 

  • Good understanding of data networking technologies with awareness of Cisco and checkpoint 
  • Reporting and documentation 
  • 3rd Party Supplier Engagement
  • Call management & escalation
  • Customer engagement
  • Project Delivery
