Job Details
We are proud of Rugby’s diverse communities, our vibrant charity and not for profit sector, our environmental assets and our businesses. We are also proud of the first-class services which we deliver to the residents of the borough of Rugby.
As we respond to, and recover from the Covid 19 pandemic, the council will work with our communities and partners to deliver the following four key outcomes:
- “Rugby is an environmentally sustainable place, where we work together to reduce and mitigate the effects of climate change”
- “Rugby has a diverse and resilient economy that benefits all residents”
- “Residents live healthy, independent lives, with the most vulnerable protected”
- “Rugby Borough Council is a responsible, effective and efficient organisation”
We are looking for a dynamic leader to join our Senior Management Team, to navigate the many challenges ahead of us and to lead some of our key services in delivering what’s right for Rugby.
You will need to be a driven leader to continue to shape our borough as a great place to live, invest and do business. Building on our existing reputation as a pro-growth authority, you would work with stakeholders to drive a sustainable economic recovery, including expansion into new economic sectors which create opportunities for our residents and enhance local prosperity. You will be a key player in the Council’s Climate Change agenda, including Ensuring we have the right infrastructure in place to deliver on our green priorities.
You will be joining us at a very exciting time as we decide on our Town Centre Strategy and shape our town centre. There are also significant urban extensions in the south west of Rugby and over 6,000 new homes planned for the Houlton area of Rugby. In this role, you will be a key player in discussions at the table. The Town Centre Strategy is at an early stage so you can make a real impact and take ownership for our future place shaping. You can ensure resident services meet current and future needs and influence what our communities look like.
As Chief Officer of Growth and Investment you would have responsibility for the following services:
- Development Control and Enforcement
- Strategic Development
- Economic Development
- Monitoring the contract for Building Control shared services
If you are passionate about transforming our borough and committed to delivering excellent customer service, then we would love to hear from you.
If you would like to discuss this role further, then please contact Anna Jay, WME Executive Search Consultant on 07904 236348 or a.jay@wmemployers.org.uk
