National adoption practice across the sector has developed in line the Government’s strategy to regionalise adoption services. Aimed at securing better and timely outcomes for children needing adoption and improving the range of support services the Regional Adoption Agency (RAA) Leaders Group is now seeking to appoint a Project Manager. The Project Manager will be accountable to the National Adoption Strategic Lead, who will work collaboratively with the RAA leaders and other key stakeholders across the sector in driving up performance and standards of practice so that a cohesive national adoption service is available to all children and families affected by adoption.

The position is available for an initial 1-year period and consideration can also be given to an applicant who might be interested in the position on a secondment basis, providing you have the agreement from your employer.

The post holder can be located anywhere in the UK as it is envisaged that the majority of work will be through virtual working arrangements although attendance and presentations at key events will also be required so some travelling will be required.

Experience of leading and managing change projects that improve service quality and support a culture that drives up standards and performance are necessary.

Applicants must also be able to lead and manage projects involving cultural change around people, processes, budgets and technology using formal project management techniques and of reporting recommendations in a variety of formats.

Experience of writing reports and delivering presentations are necessary alongside the ability to analyse, interpret and present complex business data to support the case for change.

Knowledge of public sector services including services to children and families and the national adoption agenda and outcomes for children will be important.
