Executive Director (Finance and Customer Services)

Salary – circa £100,000 (plus essential car user allowance)

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Executive Director to join a long running and successful “strategic alliance” between High Peak Borough Council and Staffordshire Moorlands.

You will be a fully qualified CCAB accountant who has extensive knowledge and practical experience of Local Authority financial planning and reporting procedures including the preparation and monitoring of budgets and preparation and presentation of final accounts. Experience in the role of Chief Finance Officer in the Public Sector is essential as you will be the designated Section (151) Officer. You will also have financial and commercial acumen, strong analytical skills and an aptitude for developing innovative solutions to complex problems.

As a member of the Alliance Leadership Team you will have a shared strategic responsibility to drive forward the delivery of the Councils’
corporate priorities and have a successful track record of engaging
effectively with others at a senior level to build productive partnerships with key stakeholders. You will also be instrumental in supporting the COVID-19 recovery plan.

You will be an innovative and inclusive Executive Director who has extensive experience at a senior level of leading, motivating and managing people and leading on strategic financial priorities. In addition to finance, you will have responsibility for other service areas: Revenues and Benefits, Customer Services and Housing, all of which are critical to the broader financial management and planning functions of the Councils. Experience in these additional service areas is desirable.
