The Participation of Children and Young People in the City of Wolverhampton is a key priority of the council as part of the #YES. The participation of young people is supported in Wolverhampton by the Youth Voice Forums which consists of Youth Engagement Board, Youth Council, The Children in Care Council and the Care Leavers forum. These groups meet fortnightly to help share experiences and inform the services that support children and young people.
The City of Wolverhampton Council are looking to recruit a full time Participation Officer for, to support the #YES and associated Youth Voice forums and activities as part of the Children’s Services Directorate.
This will include working substantial evening and weekends.
Applications would be welcomed from candidates who share and demonstrate experience of ensuring young people’s views and opinions inform changes to service delivery and to influence service design and strategies in relation to children, young people and family services and able to make clear arrangements to regularly share their views.

- Evidence working effectively with groups of children and young people
- Have a sound knowledge of issues related to Children and Family services
- Knowledge and experience of using different methods of consulting with different groups/communities

- Operate within a performance management framework
- Working in multicultural communities
