The Role 

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Development Worker within the Worcestershire County Council Apprenticeships and Qualifications Team. The team forms part of the Learning and Development service within the wider HR, Organisational Development and Engagement department.

The Apprenticeships and Qualifications Team hold employer provider status with the Department for Education and is able to deliver identified apprenticeship programmes to Worcestershire County Council staff.

Reporting to, and supporting the Team manager and working alongside two other development workers, the post holder will be responsible for driving forward the apprenticeship agenda and promoting the benefits of apprenticeships across the Council in accordance with the Worcestershire County Council's Apprenticeship Strategy, thus creating a talent pipeline within the workforce.   The post holder will also be responsible for designing, developing, delivering and the quality assurance of apprenticeships and vocational qualifications offered by the Apprenticeships and Qualifications Team.  Quality assurance responsibilities include supporting and overseeing the work of tutors and assessors and in doing so, ensuring that all OFSTED standards, awarding body requirements and performance targets are fully met within each programme of study.

The successful candidate will be able to effectively lead and motivate staff and have excellent communication skills enabling his/her to communicate at all levels within the organisation. You will have experience within a senior level quality assurance role within the education/learning and development sector and have a sound knowledge of the requirements of OFSTED and policies relevant to the delivery of accredited training.

The post holder will be required to travel around the county and be required to work in Council buildings (in response to the pandemic, temporary working arrangements require the post holder to work from home)
