Motivated by variety? Excited by opportunity? Fancy a challenge? Do you hold a BSc/MSc in Environmental Health, with practical experience in Food, Housing or Health and Safety?

Our multi-disciplinary team is looking for a new member capable of becoming a master across environmental health disciplines from approved food premises to HMO licensing, skin piercing to infectious diseases and selective licensing to workplace health and safety.
At East Staffordshire Borough Council, you can expect to take responsibility for some of the biggest food manufacturers in the country, some of the most deprived areas of housing and distribution centres of some of our biggest companies. Providing Environmental Health advice and assistance to colleagues in other service areas and interacting with other agencies and the wider public, you will build relationships to improve the environment through the application of environmental health best practice.
The successful candidate must hold a MSc/BSc/Diploma in Environmental Health or equivalent qualification and be an EHRB Registered Practitioner. You must be competent in the use of HHSRS and have a thorough understanding of HACCP and Risk Assessment.  You must have excellent communication skills, and have the ability to analyse and interpret legislation and enforce it in a balanced way.  You must also be able to demonstrate an ability to undertake complex specialist / technical work and make independent decisions, recognising personal limits and when to ask for assistance and support.
The successful applicant will be required to undertake a Basic Level Disclosure & Barring Service Check.
