We are currently recruiting for a Senior Environmental Health Officer (Health and Safety Lead) and a Technical Officer/Environmental Health Officer – Environmental Protection (Career Graded Post).

Senior Environmental Health Officer (Health and Safety) £37,890 - £38,890 Per annum
We are recruiting for a Senior Environmental Health Officer to be the lead for Health and Safety Enforcement Work.   This is an exciting opportunity where you will develop, implement, and deliver a planned workload in relation to Health and Safety. You will investigate complaints and accidents and take appropriate enforcement action to drive up compliance levels within the Borough to help protect the public and legitimate businesses.

To be considered you must be a qualified Environmental Health Practitioner, holding an EHRB Certificate of Registration or Chartered status. You will need to have an in-depth current knowledge and experience of relevant legislation, priorities, and strategies to secure compliance. Experience of working in a role involving the regulation of food safety would be advantageous as you will also be involved in the work of the Food Safety Team.

Technical Officer/Environmental Health Officer in our Environmental Protection Team 1. Technical officer £27,741 - £29,577 per annum 2. Environmental health officer Level 1 £30,451 - £32,234 Per annum 3. Environmental Health Officer £35,745 - £36,922 Per annum.
We are recruiting for a Technical Officer/Environmental Health Officer in our Environmental Protection Team. In the role, you will investigate, inspect, enforce, educate and influence to protect and improve public health and the environment for Nuneaton and Bedworth in order to achieve, social and environmental objectives. You will work collaboratively, flexibly, and innovatively with colleagues within the service, across other delivery teams, elected members and with key stakeholders.

Ideally you will be a qualified Environmental Health Practitioner (holding an EHRB Certificate of Registration or Chartered status) or a qualified graduate who holds a BSc or MSc in Environmental Health enrolling on the CIEH’s Chartered Practitioner Programme.  It will be advantageous if you have experience in environmental permitting and air quality. However, as this is a career graded post, we will consider you if you are working towards becoming an Environmental Health Officer. 

Applicants who are not EHRB registered or do not have Chartered status will start on a lower grade and accompanying salary until they become chartered. Support, training, and fees for candidates enrolled on the Chartered Practitioner Programme will be provided by the Council.
