Wanted: Innovative ICT Technician

Robin Hood Multi Academy Trust has a strong history of pushing the boundaries of education and, over the past few years, has increasingly moved towards research and evidence-based practice through the use of innovative ICT approaches.

Within each academy, we have a growth mindset philosophy and our children have a strong moral purpose; they are prepared to push the boundaries of what is possible. Education is so much more than Maths and English and within our academies we promote independent learning, mastery in all subjects and the love of the arts - all of which is interleaved with technology to maximise learning opportunities.

We are looking for an innovative and enthusiastic ICT technician to join the Trust’s growing ICT Team in order to help all of our schools (across a range of sites in Birmingham and Solihull) refine and develop their infrastructure and provision for technology further. In recent years, the Trust has worked strategically across all of our schools to ensure that we

have a systematic approach to our infrastructure through the use of Google Workspace for Education (formally GSuite for Education) including a Trust Google Drive that we created ourselves. This approach enabled us to hit the ground running during the pandemic and we are looking to employ someone with a good understanding of Google Workspace and its apps along with a high level of competency in all aspects of ICT provision at both a software and hardware level.

We want people to apply who are committed to making a difference, reflective, passionate, have real potential and most importantly believe in the power of education to change lives. If you fit this criterion, then we would love you to visit us in order to gain an understanding of how we operate and meet our friendly staff. To gain a further understanding of how our schools operate as part of Robin Hood Multi Academy Trust and to see a little more of our work then please visit our website by clicking HERE.

During the pandemic we have sought to operate in an innovative and altruistic manner through the building and sharing of resources and concepts not only within our own Trust but across the UK and further afield. You can see our national approach to lockdown 1 HERE which saw us share resources with 400+ schools across the globe. You can see our new and creative approach to CPD via the delivery of curated podcasts HERE. Please take the time to listen to podcast #001 valuing people to gain a fuller understanding of what we represent. All of the approaches highlighted were possible due to the support of a wider team in the background and ICT was at the forefront of making this possible.

The successful candidate will receive the highest level of professional development, from an incredibly dedicated team who are all genuinely driven to do the best for every member of each school’s community.

This post is covered by Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) and therefore the ability to speak fluent and spoken English is an essential requirement for this role.

Closing Date: 16 June 2021, 12 midday

Application packs available from the Trust via: enquiry@robinhoodacademy.co.uk or you can download an application pack from our MAT website

For further information please visit our school websites: www.robinhoodacademy.co.uk,

Interviews: 24th June 2021

This school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expect all staff and to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be subject to necessary pre-employment checks, including: an enhanced DBS; Childcare Disqualification (where applicable); qualifications (where applicable); medical fitness; identity and right to work.  All applicants will be required to provide two suitable references.

Applicants please note: This post is not part of the City Council and the successful candidate will not hold a Birmingham City Council Contract of Employment. Please use the contact details in the advert for information on actual employment conditions.
