The role

Worcester City Council is looking for a horticulturally-minded person for Riverside Park to act as a park keeper. The candidate must be a keen plants person with a good knowledge of plants and grounds maintenance. You should be able to work without supervision, be a strong team player and have a practical disposition.  You should be physically able to carry out technical and operational maintenance within our park.

The duties would include (but aren't limited to):

  • Horticultural groundcare – Landscaping, planting, weeding, mowing, hedge cutting, strimming, litter picking and emptying bins
  • Health and safety inspections
  • Cleaning public toilets
  • Monitoring and cleansing our Sons of Rest buildings
  • Deal with enquiries by communicating with members of the public in a courteous manner
  • Weekend working, one in every four

Skills and experience

The successful candidate must have a horticultural qualification or experience with an employment history in this field. You must must have a good knowledge of plants and parks ground maintenance, ability to use small plant and machinery and be a good communicator. 

A full UK driving licence is required.
