A challenging and exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Oracle e-biz / Oracle Fusion applications support and development professional.

Solihull Council is undergoing a period of business transformation having embarked on a programme to transition from using its established on premise Oracle e-business system to the Oracle ERP, HCM and payroll cloud-based platform. To support this period of significant change, we require a technical specialist with Oracle HCM/payroll experience to strengthen our existing Oracle cloud implementation team and occasionally assist with business-as-usual activities such as system incidents and legislative enhancements on our premise Oracle e-business system.

Working on activities such as analysis, through design, implementation, testing and deployment - you will work closely with team members in Applications, wider ICT and business areas - to deliver programme activities and support the new platform once transitioned to the live environment. You will take an agile approach to system development and be highly focused on quality.

To be successful in the role you will bring extensive experience of the Oracle HCM/payroll e-business system; system development and support; demonstrable understanding of a business area(s) that the platform underpins and excellent communication skills.

You will also have:

  • A relevant qualification to degree level or equivalent experience;
  • Experience of change management;
  • A detailed understanding of PL/SQL, relational database concepts and technology;
  • Experience of working with and understanding related business areas such as HR, Payroll and Finance;
  • The ability to foster successful relationships with people at all levels of the organisation.
