This is an exciting opportunity to join and lead Telford & Wrekin Council’s Road Safety & Traffic Engineering Team to provide technical advice and scheme delivery within the Strategic Transport & Highway Network Management area.

Telford a new town has its roots in the 1960s but this doesn’t mean we’re stuck in the past. Over the last 50 years the town has grown and developed into a hub of innovation and investment.

The Council has recently delivered a number of exciting projects including £12m Telford Town Centre Connectivity Package, a £4.5m highways capital programme and £2m Pride in Your Community investment programme. Over the next three years the Council is embarking on a further significant investment programme, will you be part of it?

As Team Leader, you will lead a multi-disciplinary team to design and implement traffic management and road safety engineering schemes as part of the Integrated Transport Capital Programme on time and to budget to ensure that the Council fulfils its Highway duties. In addition, you will be responsible for our highly successful Road Safety education programmes, delivering outcomes on our communities.

The post-holder will lead on the design, management and maintenance of traffic signals, signs, bollards and road markings in the borough and the operation and development of the Urban Traffic Management and Control Centre (UTMC) to ensure a safe and free flowing transport network.

Are you an experienced transport professional, looking to work in a forward thinking local authority and develop your and the teams skills? If so, this is your opportunity to be at the forefront of delivering traffic schemes, education packages and management of the highway network
