Learning Support Assistants (Fixed Term Contract until 31 August 2022) - The Orchard School

The Governors of this primary aged school wish to appoint several Learning Support Assistants.  Experience of working with children with complex and profound learning difficulties is required.  We are looking for people who are adaptable, reliable and good team players.

The Orchard School is an outstanding Sandwell Special School that caters for pupils with complex and profound learning difficulties. These include severe autism, complex medical conditions, physical and mobility difficulties, as well as severe developmental delay. There are currently 147 pupils on roll, and our children range from 2 –11 years.

We are a dynamic, vibrant and forward-looking school, with a welcoming ethos and a commitment to working in partnership with other agencies and families in order to harness and develop each child’s potential.

This post is covered by Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) and therefore the ability to speak fluent and spoken English is an essential requirement for this role.

The successful applicant will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check. Any offer of appointment will be subject to successful DBS clearance and 2 satisfactory references and a clear Disqualification by association return if applicable.

Hours: 32 hrs per week, Term time plus 5 INSET days

This is a fixed term contract until 31 August 2022 due to covering a sabbatical.

Salary: Band C Scale point 5-8, £10.01 – £10.62 per hour (£19,312 - £20,493 pro rata + SEN allowance, actual salary £14,839 - £15,951 per annum + SEN allowance)
