The Role


36.25 Hours per Week

Fixed term contract - September 2021 - July 2022

Race Leys Junior School is a two form entry Junior School, judged by OFSTED at 'Good' (February 2019) and is rapidly moving towards 'Outstanding' and, more importantly, Griffin Great. The school is part of the Griffin Schools Trust and partners closely with Nicholas Chamberlaine Secondary School and also Park Lane Primary School & Nursery, Nuneaton. The school works on a 'no excuses' policy and firmly believes that 100% of pupils (non-SLD) can achieve ARE. The three pillars of the Trust, High Achievement, Wide Horizons, Proud Traditions, are firmly embedded in the school and pupils benefit greatly from this philosophy. Race Leys are looking for somebody who can be innovative and engaging, ensuring that the children have fun an build relations and a love for learning.

This is a fixed term contract for next academic year, potential for renewal for successful candidate.

Salary is £19,312 - £19,698, pro rata.

Working Weeks - 44 weeks per year

Key Requirements

•Have a minimum GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths at grades A-C
•Have a Teaching Assistant qualification or have significant experience in this role
•Be highly articulate in speech and writing
•Have excellent interpersonal skills
•Be highly emotionally intelligent
•Understand how to contribute effectively as a team
•Understand the needs of young people
•Believe that all children can achieve Age Related Expectations regardless of their ability or background
•Believe that barriers to learning are just challenges that can be overcome
•Exercise initiative and independent action
