Job Details

The Community Marshal will provide a customer-facing ambassadorial service that helps residents and visitors in East Staffordshire to adhere to national guidance on COVID-19. Furthermore, the role focuses on supporting businesses of all sizes to ensure that they adhere to COVID-19 requirements and that all necessary steps are taken to keep staff, customers and visitors safe.

The post holder will provide a visible presence on the streets of East Staffordshire and provide guidance to members of the public and businesses in relation to the COVID-19 restrictions. The post holder must also record and identify locations that make social distancing difficult and highlight breaches of the regulations to the appropriate enforcement authority.

You must have experience of working in a local authority enforcement environment (or similar) and have worked with residents, community groups and the public (or similar). You will have worked in a customer service or customer facing role. Understanding of business practices would be an advantage along with basic word processing and office skills.

This is a fixed-term position until 31 March 2022, across an average of an 18.5 hour week rota covering weekdays and weekends. The Community Marshals will operate in tandem with the Council's Community & Civil Enforcement Team.
