FULL TIME

We are looking for an enthusiastic Teacher of Boy’s Physical Education who is keen to support and enable students to achieve across the 11-18 range. Key Requirements

Welcome to the PE Department
Five specialist teachers currently staff the Physical Education Department. All the staff are fully committed to their subject, share responsibilities and work enthusiastically as a team to meet the students’ needs both in lessons and in the extra-curricular life of the school.
The facilities are excellent and include a Floodlit AstroTurf Pitch, large Sports Hall, Fitness Suite, Gymnasium, Tennis and Netball courts and playing fields. The school also has two minibuses.
The timetable consists of a 25 period week with students in Years 7, 8 and 9 having five lessons per fortnight and Core PE students in Years 10 and 11 have three lessons per fortnight. Sixth Form Games and Exercise takes place on a Wednesday afternoon.
A well organised and structured teaching programme is followed which complies with the statutory requirements and meets the needs and interests of students.
Teams are run in major sports with most fixtures taking place after school and occasionally on Saturday mornings. Clubs take place during lunchtimes and after school. It would be expected that the successful applicant would participate in the running of extra-curricular sporting activities.
This academic year there are GCSE PE and BTEC Sport Level 2 groups in Years 10 and 11. We also have groups studying BTEC Level 3 Sport in the Sixth Form.
