Wolverhampton Youth Offending Team has a proven track record of delivering excellent services to young people and their families who are at risk or involved in the Criminal Justice System. We continue to be a forward thinking and ambitious organisation, committed to improving outcomes for young people, their victims and creating a safer community. As a multi-disciplinary team, we continue to develop a range of collaborative approaches to working with our key partners to ensure that our service meets the increasing complexity of young people and the changing nature of risk. To this end, Wolverhampton Youth Offending Team has invested in a service transformation project to develop trauma informed practice based on the Attachment, Regulation and Competency framework (ARC) and embedding the key Restorative Practice principles in promoting “Positive Youth Justice”.
You will have a central role within the established management team in continuing to embed this practice and demonstrate an outstanding ability to motivate and support staff to achieve the best possible outcomes for young people, using a range of supervisory and quality assurance techniques and skills. In addition, you will have an excellent understanding of risk and safety wellbeing issues within a criminal justice setting and demonstrate the necessary skills and experience to balance the needs of the child, victim and the public within our work.
We are looking for a person, who is creative and hardworking with a commitment to working as a part of this team; and who will be passionate and willing to go that “extra mile” for excellence.
The successful candidate will therefore have a:
- Relevant professional qualification recognised within YOT partnership
- Significant case management/managerial experience in YOT Partnership environment
- Proven ability to lead, motivate and supervise staff
- Track record of effectively managing high levels of risk and/or safety Wellbeing concerns
- Ability to work with a range of partnership organisation to build an alliance of support and service
- Represent the service within multi-agency forums and to contribute to the development of policy and practice in Children’s Services across the city.
