Housing Support Officer

37 hours per week

Warwick District Council looks after approximately 5500 homes and considering the Covid 19 pandemic, is looking at innovative ways to help support people to maintain their homes. You therefore have an exciting opportunity to join our Housing Services team as Housing Support Officer.

As a Support Worker, you will make a real difference to residents' lives as you improve their daily living skills. Passionate about people, you will enjoy the scope and support to enhance our residents living situations.

This role is about taking responsibility for coaching tenants to develop appropriate life skills to help them live independently and sustain their tenancies, you will therefore be able to make a positive impact on the quality of people’s lives, by helping to improve their situation ad helping to address their problems to help people remain in their homes.  

Please note due to the ongoing pandemic the role would be mainly working from home so the ability to do so is paramount to the success in this role. The successful candidate will need to be able to deal with enquiries on the telephone as required and undertake home visits where necessary.

Working sometimes on your own and sometimes as part of a team, your supervisor will be a Senior Housing Officer.

This is a public facing role of Housing Services, so you need excellent communication skills, as you will be engaging with our customers on a daily basis, problem solving and interacting with tenants. You will need to effectively deal with their concerns and work with colleagues throughout the service.

Requirements of the role include: 

A driving licence is required as this role will include visiting customers in their homes.
