Atherstone Leisure Complex is a community leisure facility based in the centre of Atherstone.  A flagship site, the Centre has a 25 metre pool and teaching pool, gym, Functional Training Zone, group cycling studio, and a memorial hall which hosts classes, activities and events.

As part of the Leisure Facilities Team at North Warwickshire Borough Council, you will be working as a member of the Leisure Centre Management Team, making a crucial contribution to the development of this busy and constantly progressing leisure facility.

As a Duty Officer you will have a broad skill set that will ensure you are confident in managing areas such as the swimming pool, activities and events to deliver excellent customer service. Additional key tasks will include programme development, customer care and retention, marketing, staff development and managing the day-to-day operations of the centre as a whole.

You will be a strong leader, supervising staff effectively. You will be required to hold or very quickly obtain a full First Aid certificate, National Pool Lifeguard Qualification and Pool Plant Operator Certificate.  An understanding of the leisure industry and the principles of leisure operations would be an advantage as well as an understanding of Health & Safety legislation.

The successful candidate must have a flexible approach to work, able to work shifts including early mornings, evenings and weekends.

This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and, as such, appointment will be conditional upon receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of criminal records via the Disclosure and Barring Service, before the appointment is confirmed.  This will include details of cautions, reprimands or final warnings, as well as convictions. An Enhanced Disclosure will be required.
